Fol de Rols 1928 | Photograph from Jamie McCormick

About This Photograph

We think this is from the 1928 – 1930 cast.

The man on the far right is the comic Harry Brunning with Will Kings standing next to him.

You can find out more about Harry Brunning at Peter Brunning’s family site.

If you can identify any other people in this photograph, please do get in touch.

Update

I am 99% sure the man on the extreme left is Rupert Harvey.

He did an act billed as ‘Chalks and Chunes‘. He would sing a Ballad like “Her Name is Mary” whilst drawing a crayon picture of ‘Mary’ on a large piece of paper on an easel. Also, “The Bitish Grenadiers” etc.

One other stunt was to draw a landscape upside down and at the very end turn it round to reveal where it was!

I worked with both Harry Brunning and Rupert Harvey in the late 1930’s — in fact, Rupert came to France with us Winter 1939.

Research note

Rupert Harvey appeared in many productions at The Old Vic from 1920 – 1924
